OK,

I'm being advised to connect my Onkyo 875 to my Quad L-ite system with either

QED Original speaker cable (plus banana plugs) @ £3.00/m

or

QED Silver anniversary Speaker Cable @ £5.50/m

Is the original worth considering?

I only need approx 20m in total, with the longest run being about 8/9m to one of the surrounds.

Or should I go - silver anniversary to the fronts and centre, then original to the rears?

All help truly appreciated

WHSV Team - Anyone - any opinions?

I've also looked at the review section of WHSV and there's

ATLAS BASIC BIWIRE at 4.50/m this seems like a better option than the QED Silver Anniversary XT?

Please help

Have tried both cables on old KEF C75 floorstanders and the result is this...Original is nice and clear and easy to listen too.....Silver anniversary (not xtube type) produced more bass but high frequency was a little more shut in..So if your speakers are very bright then silver anniversary would help to tone them down and warm them up...(incidently i tried twisting both original and silver anniversary together to get the best of both worlds but if your speakers can be bi-wired then give that a go with original doing the high frequency..)

Got the Quads myself on Saturday and the sales man told me that Quad had said that all there speakers run best on just copper cables and not silver coated, and to go for QED Original, but as I already use QED Bronze SE, so he advised putting my money in to the a better amp. What was the reason you went for the Onkyo 875 and is it worth the extra over the 605, 705 and 805 when used with the L-ites?
