Just started doing it, after a couple of minutes into the film it freezes up.
Nothing else is affected. (DVD's, Games, Picture libary)

It is 22 mths old (the 60gb model) and has probably played about 100 B/R films in that time.
It has had on the latest updates installed over the wireless internet connection.

Has any one had this problem, any ideas?

You now have a legitimate reason to get a stand alone blu-ray player!

Yes Valian, that's what I thought.

Just bought a Sony 350, was delivered yesterday.
1st impresions are (watching Ironman) slightly better picture, more detailed sound on Bitstream / Dolby HD done on the Onkyo 875.

Sony service tell me to back up and format the Hard Drive on the PS3.

Did that and it still was the same. It has started to do the same on games as well now!

I had the same problem the other week with my 18 month-old 40gb model -ÿSCE's call centre first told me the same as you, to format the hard drive. This made no difference whatsoever, so I found my receipt (luckily!) and faxed it to them. This was a Monday, and by that Thursday I had a courier at my door to exchange my console for a refurbished 40gb (which looked good as new). Didn't cost me a penny, the console has worked perfectly so far and has its own 3-month warranty.

I can't fault Sony on this one, although their swift response suggests this is a common problem! Give it a go!ÿ
