if your using that bad boy yamaha off an ikea strip then please try something else.

The Aquarius is the perfect starting point. I have seen sceptic after sceptic have their views changed by a demo of one. Its the perfect starting point and for most people all they will ever need as it removes the vast majority of mains noise and seperates all your components from each other

Its a great product to try

Sounds like a complete waste of money and time. But it will satisfy your expectation bias. When are you going to upgrade the cables in the power grid?

Let me explain r e a l l y s l o w l y. Mains stuff doesn't (cannot) affect performance, as long as the connections are properly made. It isn't possible for your Sagittarius to affect my Yamaha. Not even if the planets are out of alignment.

I am opened minded mate it’s a case of trying for my self I was going to buy the audioquest power cable just to try about £60 and use it on my amplifier and see .

id suggest using it with at least a decent proprietary audio power strip that is star wired, no surge protection, and then put the cable on an Ikea strip or a surge protected one, and see what that does. I’m pretty certain the combo will be better. If you are going to the trouble of a high current power cable, at the very least the strip has to let it work too. You don’t need anything fancy and I’m sure if you look around you can get one of these relatively cheap. Also you need to use a decent cable on the power strip to the mains, otherwise again don’t expect much. I reckon it’s easily possible to bring a good improvement black sabbath for around £200-£300 and much less if buying used. My recommendation would be not to half heartedly go for one £60 ish strip - I suspect you will be umming and arring over differences as it will be minimal, but demo two power cables and a power bar, preferably of same make. Clearer audio are a good one.

just changing 1 power cable you will see a small difference then you will doubt the whole thing.

A home demo of an Aquarius will cost nothing but is substantial enough product for purposes of testing things for yourself.

If you can borrow several power cables at the same time and try them as well.

Ignore everyone else inc me and try for yourself and see what you think.

the blind test everyone always links to they shared an ikea power strip with a high end hifi and a dvd player and cheap amp and people couldnt hear the benefit of the better system.

there is several reasons why that is a big one

I know that science and engineering made my hi-fi possible. Over a century of progress in Quantum physics and optics and computing and electromagnetism and acoustics.

But tell me that science and engineering have anything to do with the wires that connect the components together and you’re an idiot. The laws of science do not apply to them. The wires inside the components are none of my business. I can’t change them. I don’t have the knowledge to do so, but the ones I can change are very much a business. (And a very lucrative one.)

I am a science/electronics half-wit who fully accepts that my system was designed and built by very clever and qualified electronics specialists, but I trump them all when it comes to MY speciality of choosing after-market wires in pleasingly expensive packaging from equally unqualified hi-fi shop sales staff.

Interconnects, speaker cables, USB and HDMI leads are a mystery to science but not to me. Don’t try double blinding me with science when it comes to customising my system in the only way I can without training, a soldering iron and (probably) killing myself.

Inspired of the peter bruninger video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAXxekB7RmY&t this thread and the fact that i get some tax money back next month, i went ahead and bought 2 pair of Clearer audio alpha one mains for my yamahas.

https://www.whathifi.com/clearer-audio/copper-line-alpha-one-mains/review

I had 2 pair of the cables, when i sold my Marantz PM8005 i let him have a pair (doesn't fit on my nad 3020i).

Since i needed slighlty longer cable than last time (one cable (i use for my cdplayer) would be to short for my yamahas) i had to pay a little extra, also a little more than the tax refund, but not to much. Chose free delivery so i think i would get them before next month, which is pretty nice considering delivery is free.

Who said it's cheap to have a hobby, passion. Theres also 60 Day Money Back Guarantee if it happens not to sound good with my system, speakers.

Also a thing that is different about clearer audio cables besides that they make the cable when they get the order, is that you all the time get an order update like these (pretty nice, i don't know if other companys does that)

Date Ordered: Wednesday 09 April, 2014

Your order has been updated to the following status:
New status: Product(s) being manufactured

Please reply to this email if you have any questions.

I was thinking of upgrading my gpu to a gtx 1080, that could have been a very expensive upgrade since graphic cards are expensive these days and i have to buy one before i could sell my current graphics card, my cpu is a ryzen cpu and therefor i need a dedicated graphic card. Have also though of a 32" 3840x2160 g sync monitor but those are a 1000€ minus what i could get for my main monitor.

Mabye graphic cards will be a bit cheaper, powerfull when nvida launch there 2000 card's and also with ryzen+ next month there is alot of money i could spend on new hardware, for now it's only a pair (2) of high performance entry level power mains, as you can se,hear peter bruninger in the youtube video together with the guy who makes the cable, talking about power mains, cable that could make a HUGE difference in sound quality.
