Possible to short using banana plugs?

Hi all, I've just connected up my KEF 2005's to my Onkyo amp - but the wires going into the speakers were not colour coded by Richer sounds and they are now under my carpet - am I risking short circuiting if I connect the positive and negative banana plugs to the wrong binding post on the speakers?

Provided you have the right pairs of cables, then the worst you can do is connect a speaker out of phase.
