The Sony BDP-S550 is cracking Blu-ray player and would suit your Sony amp nicely.

The BDP-F51 is a good player solid player at that price. It is extremely slow though, it takes awhile for it to actually power on and even longer before you put a disc in. The S550 is profile 2.0, and has fast loading times. In terms of picture quality, the Sony and the Pioneer are pretty level, but I think the Pioneer just shades it, in terms of sharpness.

The only thing the OP might find with either the Sony or the Pioneer is when compared to his Denon 2910 which he intends to upgrade that these players are some what plastic in appearance as where his Denon is IMHO of a much better build quality.

Hi

Another one worth thinking about is the Denon 1800BD,I've had this on loan for a couple of days and the picture and sound is better than my Sony BDP-550.

I was never impressed with the upscaling of the Sony, the Denon is much nearer in p.q. to my old Denon 2930 so I'm going to keep the 1800BD and sell my Sony player.
