hi everyone

have you heard the rumour bout the new ps3 slim?

yeah thought so.

so have you or anybody else put off buying a ps3 simply because of its size?

i ask because the gaming press seem to think this could set the ps3 market on fire.

cant see it personaly.

unless of course the new model includes an improved/updated blu ray player?

Personally i cant see them having a much improved player installed at all as this will be new hardware in which they will want to keep the cost down for the mass market especially leading upto xmas and the current credit crunch status of the world. The last thing they will want with new hardware is extra cost when they will want to ship as many units as possible. Look at the launch of the PS3. There were still units availbe on launch due to the price being too high, they wont make the same mistake twice

Hope not, but it wouldn't be the first time. It's always been the way with almost every generation of consoles. Later in the consoles life a "new" version is released, which generally uses less processing chips to do the same job and cheaper components. Sega were terrible for this. Master system 2 & Mega Drive 2 for instance.

I could be wrong, but its logical to cut down on certain specs i.e. touch sensitive buttons for cheaper rubber ones, and cheaper hardware so that the costs are down. Sony pretty much lose loads of money when they make a PS3, it costs more to make than to sell.
