Playing video content from an Ipod Classic 160g to Sony 40z4500

I have several films and tv programmes stored on my ipod , is it possible to connect the ipod to the Sony Tv and play these files on the large screen or do i have to buy Apple TV ?
I would love to play these films when on holiday so portability is key ; the cottage i use has a new Lg 32 inch but i hate carting loads of DVD's !

I think this Sony TV has a Digital Media Port (DMP) on it (??)

If so then I think you can connect an iPod docking station (like the one below) to it.

I haven't tried it myself, so please check with your Sony dealer rather than taking my word for it.
