Hi all have the opportunity to buy a secondhand 6080 pioneer for £1700 with 2year warranty remaining my question is is it worth the money ? how much better are the 9th generation pioneers ? or should i be looking at something else which must be at least 58inches regards Garry

i think it's too dear, similar money will get you a brand new 63in 3d samsung c7000 plasma that would in my opinion be very close in terms of pic quality...

of course if it was a 6090 that would be different...

thanks maxflinn were the 9th generation that much better than the 8th gen?

according to reviews the 9th generation really moved the game forward especially with it's black levels which are still unmatched, i've read many a review that has mentioned how various tv's had caught up with the 8th gen version but was still behind the 9g..

i don't doubt that the 8g is still an excellent tv, i'd not say no at the right price but imo £1700 is a bit steep, lg's 60px990 is similar money too and you get freeview hd, 3d, and other extras not to mention excellent pic quality..

just my thoughts
