So the Pioneer KRP 5/600 sets feature a digital satellite tuner, but not to Freesat standard according to the WHF review, can it still display HD channels from Freesat though, or is it SD channels only?
One of the sale guys in a shop told me about this, apparently its not spoken about........ I presume its the same as Freesat, Panasonic and soon to be LG are the face of the product on TV's. Intresting to find out for sure
Well like I said, according to the review on here, it's not to the Freesat standard, which is probably why it doesn't get mentioned, but they only state that the EPG doesn't work, I presume from the lack of any other comments on the subject that everything else works, just not the EPG.
I'd need Clare or one of the other peeps to confirm that though.
The word is that you can get anything that's unencrypted, including the HD channels currently available via Freesat receiver, but you don't get the EPG.
So in other words, it works, but it's not Freesat approved.
Hmm, well, that's not so bad, I was considering using it as a backup to SkyHD, we occassionally want to record two things at once but watch something else, so it could come in handy with that. Cheers E!

I dont think you can get ITV HD, 'cause that is accessed via the "red button", which is part of the Freesat spec. ITV HD does not appear as a seperate channel.
Andrew Everard:Well no, exactly - but then I did say 'channels' and not 'the odd random programme in HD so well hidden that even its mother doesn't know it's on'.
Quite. Just making it plain to the OP that ITV HD is only on Freesat. Not everyone understands that.
Does that imply that all the other red button stuff doesn't work either? That might be more irritating! I can't remember the last time I watched ITV, so that's no biggy...
