Pioneer BDP-51FD or Panasonic 55 or 35?

I currently own a 32 inch Samsung LCD TV that is just HD ready, not 1080p ready. I was wondering which of these players to choose? Will I notice any difference in picture quality on my 32 inch set? Would I notice any difference in picture quality, should I move up to a 37 or 40 inch 1080p set?

from earlier posts i have seen the Pio is the best.

I went for the 35 and spent the difference on Discs

but i think i will be upgrading the 35 next year.

On a 32" set, I would get the cheapest one. Do you have a surround sound system or do you intend getting one? To get the full benefit from HD, you do need a larger set IMO. That's another issue though.

I will be getting the whole surround sound set up at some point later this year, so would need it to be future proof with regards to HD audio etc. Does the influence the decision?

And to confirm, is the consensus that the difference in picture quality would be minimal on my TV?
