Just bought it here in the Neths. It now includes DTS Master Audio, but will I get this and Dolby True HD via my Arcam 300 AV reciever with a digital optical connect or will i have to buy a new AV amp?

no not via the digital optical you will only get dd and normal dts but at higher bit rate, so you will still get better sound, not sure about your amp but if it has multi channel inputs on the back then you can hook up the player in this way, then set the player to decode internaly and output the sound through the multi channel out puts. this will give you Dolby True HD but at the moment not DTS Master this needs to wait for the update from pioneer.ÿ

To be able to hear the HD sound on your amp you must use the Multi-Channel outputs on the Pioneer and let the Pioneer do the decoding on board. You will need to invest into a set of phono cables (one for each output/input) but definatly cheaper than getting a new amp.

Yes, as the Pioneer has multichannel analogue outs and the Arcam multichannel analogue ins, that's the way to proceed. Four pairs of analogue interconnects much cheaper than a new receiver...
