Peter Larsen: Do you have any idea why the EU version is a lesser model? Is it even beneficial to Pioneer to make different versions. My guess would be that it is cheaper to produce more of the same model instead of differentiating them for different markets.
Or to force people like myself further up the range to pay more. Although that might have backfired now.
I will still get the amp from Pioneer, because I want the auto switch off/on when the TV is on or off (which is also a Pioneer), but I did kind of want the Pioneer BD player as well, if only for the Kuro link and the PQLS, whoever I might see if I can live without that now.
Having said all that I'd be willing to bet that Pioneer aren't alone in doing this kind of thing, I think even the legendary Oppo have been known to do that in the past.
