Phono Stage

My otherwise wonderful Musical Fidelity E10 has gone wiggy on one channel of the phono stage, so I'm in the market for a Phono stage and skint.

There seem to be plenty of Pro-Ject Mk1 around £40-£50 on eBay but how far off the current pace, like the Rega Fono USB would that be ? Any ideas? Am I really best saving and missing my vinyl until I can raise £85?

Get the E10 repaired? Might be cheaper.

I'm very pleased with the Rega predecessor to the USB model, the fono mini. They pop up on eBay quite often and you cannot really go wrong. Can't see one right now but recall about forty quid used. Might be worth calling Rega dealers who may have one 'round the back' gathering dust!

How is it?

I was thinking of coughing up a couple of hundred quid and my dealer said try this and return it if you don't like it. I still have it!
