Guys what does the phase dial do on my BK Gemini sub?

 

0 - 180 degrees................i have fiddled about wi it a wee bit but can't seem to find its function

From what i understand it either keeps the bass in phase 0 deg ie with the other frequencies, or antiphase 180 deg to the other freq so you can tune the bass to your room/system, use it to find out which you prefer.

Phase control
Most good quality subs allow you to adjust
the phase control. This tells your sub's speaker
when to move in and when to move out, either in phase
with the main speakers (normally marked 0ø) or out of
phase (180ø). You could get really technical about which
way to set it, but in the end it boils down to what
sounds best, so use your ears - you are listening for
as full a sound as possible; experiment with the two
settings, and one bassy bit of music and film
