PCM over HDMI Which Reciever???

This will be my first post then, I have recently purchased a Tosh HD-E1 and I am looking for a new Receiver, now I would like to extract PCM from the HDMI out of the tosh. I was interested in the Sony 1200 but understand that this will only pass through the sound not process it. I am now thinking of the new Onkyo 605 what are your thouoghts? would the 505 do the job?

No, in the Onkyo range the TX-SR605 is the minimum for this requirement. The TX-SR505, like the Sony, just has HDMI pass-through

Oh yes! The Onkyo TX-SR875 is reviewed in the next (Sept) issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, on sale July 26, and we'll be First Testing the TX-SR605 in the October issue (on sale August 23). Oh, and I've just been told the TX-SR875 will also feature in a Group Test of £1000ish AV receivers in October's issue too.

Cool thanks for that! im going to demo the 875 against a 4306 (same price)weekend after next and reading the review first would be a help. Im hoping the upscaling will help clear up some noise on SD sky!
