PC HiFi System (DAC/Amp and Speaker) under $500

Hi everyone. Forgive my poor English. I will be USA in next few month from China. I'm not familiar with the HiFi brand here. So I really need some advice.

Actually, I'm not a big fan of HiFi but need some kind of good sound qualities for pop music and movie. Anyway, I'm sick of my current 2.1 speakers (Microlab M200).

My computer is ITX without place for a internal sound card.

So I think I need a DAC/Amplifier and a 2.0 speaker.

I'm kind of into Focal XS Book, which is reported to be fit for music and has a good looking. Any other suggestions about speaker?

But I really don't know about DAC/Amp. How about Nuforce Icon uDAC2. Would you please recommend me some ?

This is an UK based hifi mag/forum so you may not get many users based in USA. I think some actives would be the best bet with a DAC, have a look at Behringer and Yahama for a start, they are about £120+ in UK don't know about USA market.

Built in DAC, active speakers, very well reviewed and $499 - either those or Audioengine A2's and an O2 DAC.

I suggest you have a look at the Yamaha HS5 or HS7 active speakers which cost £264 or £312.

These can be used with the Behringer UCA202 DAC which costs £23.

This would leave plenty of money some desktop stands if you wanted them.
