Hi,

I have a Panasonic 42VT20 with a pay-card in the CI+ to receive HD programs (Astra 1 and 3).

Is it possible, with the Pana DMR-BS 850 to record one encrypted channel while watching another encrypted one ?

Hi,

The pay card is in the CI slot of the TV? I would thihnk it's only possible to record one paytv channel as the recorder does not have the ability to decode the paytv signal?

Ok, but while recording one paytv channel, can i switch to another paytv channel just to watch? With my old topfield 4000 pvr this was possible. At least if the channel where on the same transponder.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with the Topfield 4000 but from a quick look online ( http://www.sateuropa.co.uk/product_overview.asp?id=732&catid=1&subcat=32 ) it seems this was a twin CI slot PVR.

Your TV has only 1 CI slot so I'd imagine only one programme could be shown at any one time from the CI card.

Buying a PVR with a CI slot would have been the better option than the Panasonic DMR-BS850.
