My mum is looking to get this set for £599 from John Lewis. However, I can't find any reviews of it anywhere and it doesn't seem to be listed on the Panasonic website. Anyone got this one or heard anything about it?

I'm suggesting to my mum that the TX-L37G10 for an extra £50 is a much better buy with intergrated Freesat, 100hz frame rate (the U10 only has 50hz), more HDMI inputs and better sound. But without reading reviews/hearing experiences I can be 100% sure I'm right.

Any advice gratefully received.

The TX-L37U10 is a basic model and was produced to be sold at a budget price ideally at small retailers, super markets etc.. hence why it is not on the Panasonic website and also not in the product catalogue too. The reason why some retailers have them is that Panasonic have quite a few to get rid of and are offering at a good price to retailers. I would stay clear and get the TX-L37G10, at a extra £50, it's a no brainer and a far better tv too.

It's a basic model but if you are happy to save some money then you can find l37u10 at TJ Hughes for £479. Thats a decent saving if you askme, unless you find the configuration very basic as compared to g10....

The U10 is effectively a cut-down S10. It was price comparible to the P37X10.
This left consumers with the choice of 3x HDMI's but HD-Ready (X10) or 2x HDMI with Full-HD (U10).

Essentially it's the cheapest way of getting a Full-HD 37" Panasonic LCD - by striping out all the luxuries but the panel.

I suspect the panel is the same in the U10, S10 and G10 but the processing will be different. The G10 has Vreal Pro 4 vs Vreal Pro 3 on the U10 and S10 for instance.

If you don't need Freesat I'd wonder if the G10, despite the updated processing, is worth it over the S10.
