I am thinking of buying this tv in the near future but I kep reading reviews some are good but some say there is a problem with backlight bleed through, can anybody advise if this is a problem please

Have you seen the set yourself? Always the best place to start!

We think it's a great set, though not offering the best blacks: its much-cheaper (albeit lower-spec) TH37PX80 sibling has it beaten for that, and we feel that TV is much better value.

Also, we didn't encounter backlight bleed with the LCD. I do worry that some people buy a set, switch it on, and think 'backlight bleed!' because the backlight's set to maximum.

I accept there can be problems, and certainly rogue sets, but properly calibrated, we've seen very few LCDs that suffer from bleed that negatively effects everyday viewing.

Incidentally, we've got a Supertest of 37in TVs on the way in our next issue - with subscribers from 6th December; in shops by 11th.
