Hi everyone

I have narrowed my search down to these two models. Here is what i need it for.

1) Watching blu-ray dvd.

2) Xbox and PS3 gaming.

3) Good HD and SD content

4) good sound.

Which one would you recommend and which one is better for picture plasma or LCD

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards marc

Guess they are in the same league for image. the philips also has very good sd or freview picture,(pherhaps a little more insight and detail in blu.ray)just like the panny.for gaming I have no idea.but plasmas usually have better reponse.Gaming on plasma could lead to screen burn. (many other posts about it here).

Hello, only you can tell which TV suits your eyes.

For information I believe the Panny has the better onboard tuner, sound is reasonable (not as good as seperate speakers / reciever). You get no input lag on gaming and once set up / calibrated I feel the Panny will give you the better picture. Remember big stores have their tvs set to garish levels of brightness and contrast for that wow factor. As you can see from my kit list I have the Panny and am extremely happy with it.

Be advised if you are eco friendly then an lcd typically uses less juice, but I feel it cannot give realistic skin tones and natural colours but that is my opinion. Also Plasmas do tend not to be as good as lcd in direct sunlight (in window etc).

I would not change my Panny for the world tho.

Screen burn not an issue on modern plasmas. Most logos now move slightly or are of low brilliance. As for gaming screen burn I have had serious 12 hrs + sessions on Fallout 3 / Call Of Duty etc and no retention or burn issues
