Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the audio output so the volume is changed using the origonal panasonic remote?

I have tried connecting the tv to an amp through 3.5mm to rca, rca to rca & optical caple. No matter what, I only get the sound replicated through the amp which I have to turn up and down manually.

Many Thanks for any help you can offer

Dan

Nope, it's stupid. theres a dedicated headphone volume aduster but its an effort to get to every time just to change the volume a little.

Okay, just want to make sure I'm getting you here - are you looking to plug the TV into an external amplifier and speaker system, but still control the volume output via the TV's original remote?

If so, most analogue and digital outputs on a TV (and almost any device to be honest) are fixed level - this means you control the volume through the amplifier you are connecting into. This is actually the preferred method for virtually every instance of this I'm afraid. I personally can't think of any reason why you would want it any other way...

Professorhat,

You're spot on with what I am trying to achieve, I have had that as a setup on previous tv's with no problem & it also eliminates the need for keeping hold of multiple remotes. My other problem is my amp, which there is nothing wrong with, it doesn't have a remote - it has basic features, but i cant fault it.

Any ideas, or am I looking at having to buy a new amp now?

Many Thanks

Understood - yes I'm afraid the only way I think you can do it is as previously suggested i.e. by using the headphone output into the amp and using the headphone volume control, or, as you say, by buying a new amp with a remote control.

An amp with HDMI4 control will allow you to use the panasonic remote to control volume via Viera Link.

Hi Rewerb,

This isn't something i'm familiar with, would you mind explaining it? Do I need a Panasonic amp, or any amp with HDMI, or something else?

Any feedback much appreciated
