Hello everyone,

I am looking to buy a Bluray player to go with my Sony Bravia W4600.

Having researched the market - Have chosen the above 2 models..

Has anyone done research in the above models particulary in :-

(1) Picture Quality (2) DVD Upscaling (3) Sound Quality

Additional welcome feature would be a Wifi connectivity - but not essential.

Thanks

Go for the Sony IMO.

Recently replace a Panny BD30, after having a Denon 2500BT previously, and I am amazed at the quality of all three of your requirements, simply stunning for the cost, use the money you save to buy some class discs.

Mark - you went from a Denon 2500 BT to a Panasonic BD-30???
Can I ask why? I have a BD 30 (one of the first decent BD players on the market) and have thought about upgrading to the Denon (I have the 2310 amp).
Would have thought the Denon is much better than the Panny!?
Are you also suggesting the Sony S370 is better than the Denon!?!

I was going to either buy the panny bd85 or sony s370, and i chose the Sony. I upgraded from a Panny bd30, a few years old now, and the player never fails to impress me. Its all I could ever want from a blu ray player, its responsive, fast load times, superb picture and sound, silent, and has bbc iplayer HD, which is fantastic by the way. I cant see the Panasonic BD85 being any better than this, and the Sony is half the price. Buy two sonys for livingroom and the bedroom for the price of the Panny.

I agree with Audiowizard, go for the S370. The only reason to go for the Panny would be if you needed the analog outputs. I bought the BD85 for this reason and it's a wonderful performer. I also have a Panny screen and it helps to cut back on remotes, another reason for you to go with the Sony.

Sounds a little silly I know, I had the 2500 ( and a AVR-1910 at the time), and a freind made me an offer I could not refuse for it, so I sold it and banked the cash, waiting for the technology to mature and a player with faster load times / good picture etc. to come along, in the I meantime I dug out my old Panny BD30 from the loft.

I really can't remember how good the 2500 was, but from what I remember the sony 370 is not far off at all, but loads faster etc.
