Optical or Coaxial?

Just purchased the SC-LX83 for my old Onkyo 875 which i have to say was an excellent Home Cine amp, any experience of or difference between Opt or Coax when connecting to Sky HD in receivng DD. I can hear Andrew grating his teeth already..... not this cable debate again..lol.

This is not a cable debate which will trigger an explosion. You are just asking if there is any difference between optical and coax digital connections.

I think coax just shades it over optical, but the best way to decide is try both and see which works best for you.

Coax for short runs

Optical for longer runs.

Coax sounds better to my ears 🙂

imo there is very little between the two so it should not matter either one would do.

I prefer coax (for short run as previously stated) and it is a better conection IMO.

Nice tight fit.

It's a close call on my set up, but I believe that coaxial just shades it in terms of absolute detail, to my ears that is
