OPTICAL CABLE CONNECTION

I RECENTLY BOUGHT AN OPTICAL CABLE TO RUN THE SOUND OF MY SAMSUNG TV THROUGH MY SAMSUNG HOME CINEMA SYSTEM. IT WORKS FOR SO LONG THEN KEEPS CUTTING THE SOUND OFF! DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT MIGHT BE UP?

why do you assume it's the cable - if a cable works it works?

If there is an intermittent porblem with sound, then most likely the sound source or destination (i.e. your amp or tv)
