Oppo 83SE and 93................any news?

Just browsing through a well known auction site when I came across these two models above from Oppo

The 83SE is 2D and the 93 is 3D

Much known of the performance of these BD players, any sense in buying direct from the USA?

Came across some funny info about the Oppo 83 which was retailing for $499 in the States , apparently Lexicon released a BDP the Bd-30 for $3500 it then turned out it was a rehoused Oppo 83 with a THX badge !!!

An extra $3000 for a different case and a THX Badge. Then Lexicon tried to justify that they had made changes but apparently they weren't substantiated upon inspection from the AV community.

Going for a demo on Wednesday of the Oppo 93.....no news on dates for the 95 though according to Albriscoe

Have no real need for 3D functionality or second HDMI out so wonder how this compares to the Sony 5000ES or Cambridge Audio BD650sor PQ and SQ...

same here, no 3D requirement just need best PQ and SQfor not silly money.

Look forward to your feedback, problem will be demo-ing all three side by side, so still will be quite subjective, and that's the risk I guess
