Im not replacing them any time soon, pp. I've still got my home theatre set up, that'll take up the music duties for the foreseeable. I see you've shifted the cdp. How come?

No real reason, other than over the last year I've used CDs less and less. Vinyl has become the kid on the block (and radio). Couldn't see any point in the CDP sitting there collecting dust. So I'm putting the money aside and it'll go towards a better turntable.

Hi Ted,

It's been years since I last checked this forum!

Hope you are well.

I haven't really kept in touch with anyone from Prod Ops really, although I used to occasionally meet up with Andy Cowsill (although not since the mid 90s).

I did see Adrian about ten years ago (I forget his name now) as he was at that point working for Avid on their online learning systems.

I never saw Steve after I left Enterprises in 1985. I did see Chris Maidwell (from a distance) at Ampex in or near Reading in about 1990 or 91 when I was sent there on a course because the News and Current Affairs Dept at the BBC had set up an Ampex based combined Graphcs area/online suite. In true BBC style I was one of four who had to drive the Ampex Edit Controller and vision mixer bit NOT the DVE or caption generator as that was two other people's jobs!

I remember Chris scowled at me from across a corridor - not sure he even recognoised me. I assume me he is retired now?

I got out of news and into post prodcution which I have been doing for over 20 years, first as an online editor, currently as a colourist. Maybe that's what you saw my credit for?

Anyway, I love Rogers speakers too. Wish I 'd used my BBC staff disount to buy a container full of LS3/5A's. I could retire on the profit from those!

I actually have two pairs of Studio 1's. They are the older 3 way design. One pair purely in case I ever blow the other pair up. I was considering selling one pair, adding a considerable sum of cash and buing a pair of the current Harbeth SHL5+, which can be picked up secondhand for about £2k. But I really don't think my 56 year old ears would be able to tell much improvement. I know for a fact I can't hear above 14k!

Tony
