Went into the Bose store in Leeds yesterday and was quite impressed with the systems that they showed me.

The systems i looked at range from £750 for the 3-2-1 System to the one i'm very interested in, which is the Lifestyle 28 System which is £2000.

Does anyone know anything about Bose home cinema equipment or more specifically the systems i am looking at above.

Would really appreciate anycomments before i make a purchase

Thanks

There have been many Bose threads before on here so I shall keep this short and sweet. You can get much better quality and value for money by avoiding Bose Lifestyle systems. A separate amp/receiver with speaker package will give you far more options and better quality. Nowadays, even the smart Bose tiny cubes can be matched by other packages. A £500 AV receiver and the Jamo A10HCS51 speaker package would give you more for your £700 and they look great too. The more you spend the bigger the difference would get.

Agreed. Not as integrated, but vastly superior in sound, for £1,000 you could get this and this, which will kick the top of the range Bose's -rse without breaking sweat. For £2,000, you could add a grand to your speaker budget and get something spectacular......

Agree with above posts too. These BOSE systems look great and lovely designs but they just can't compete with separates systems costing less.

The key thing missing with BOSE systems is the mid-range. Take a music CD with guitars/male vocals into the shop and have a listen. To my ears, the voices and guitars suffer due to the sizes of the drive units.

only have a bose wave radio cd(or clock radio) but it sounds better than anyother clock radio and has clear sound but thats it.

Bose is very overpriced for what you get and a lot of the 5.1 systems would date very quickly regarding connectivity and sound.

I stress you will get MUCH MUCH better sound quality and power from a seperate av receiver/amp and a speaker package for a third of the price of a lot of the more expensive systems.

Test and listen to several brands b4 u part with your hard earned cash.
