A Anonymous Guest Nov 17, 2007 #5 I initially was advised to use direct but multi-channel sounds so much better. As I understand it the PS3 decodes the sound and sends it as multi-channel PCM via the HDMI to the receiver, so using the multi-channel listening mode makes sense.
