Onkyo 875

Hi. I am planning to upgrade my receiver from 606 to 875. But will I have to upgrade my speakers as well or can I just stick to my old ones? My floorsatnders can only handle up to 150 watts whereas the 875 has a 200 watts power output. Thanks

Just been looking at this receiver myself on Richer sounds website, double the power I have at the moment, what's interesting is that if you want the black box it's £100 more, the same for the 905. Anyone know why the black one is more than the Silver one?

I may be wrong but i reckon the black one is more popular so they need to shift the silver ones.

I think i will be getting this receiver too.

I have the mordaunt short avant 5.1 900i series with 908i floorstanders and MJ acoustics pro 50 mk2 sub. cheers andy

That's exactly it - no technical difference between the two. I got the silver Onkyo 905 a few weeks back for £1000 - doh! Very happy with it though.

I got the Avant's running with a '875' and it's fine. You might want to tweak the channel outputs to be safe though.
I got the upgrade bug now and I have to say that Im getting really tempted to whack my whole Mordaunt Short system on ebay or something alike and go for some B&W Speakers like the Professor I believe.
