old system resurrected...dennon/kef

hi,

system is dennon pma250se, dennon dcd425 and kef coda 7....

all my thoughts and actions on getting a HD tv system has led to me thinking about music 🙂.......i dug out my old system from the attic, a few years ago the amp died and i just put it to one side as was busy with other things in my life......

well todayi opened up the amp as its well out of guarentee and fiddled with a few wires and it seems to be working...yeay!!!!

is it worth having all the kit properly serviced or shall i bin it and start afresh?

Amp and cd player are fine, I would recommend getting new speakers, the Coda 7s I had on the end of my Denon micro were not the finest.

so get the amp/cd player serviced but get some new speakers...any suggestions??

Arrange to take your amp and cdp (with a few discs) into your local Richer Sounds and have a listen.

Up to £150 I'd say Diamond 9.1s, from personal experience. More than that and your choice becomes wider - the Monitor Audio BR2s are current favourite I think.
