Old Philips what hi fi award winner vs newer lcds any comparisons

My current upgrading of my system has left me wondering if i should upgrade my tv i currently have a Philips 32 pf9830 lcd which was an award winner at the time im actually really pleased with the picture running a dvd through my Denon but as im now venturing in to Blu Ray im wondering if im going to be missing out on alot how does this old model compare to the new breed? Obviously mine isnt 1080p but aside from that. I do love the ambilight but ive read alot about the new pioneer kuro range. Thanks

Upgrade yes, if u like bigger TV (like sony 40w4500). If u stay at 32", dont bother - your set is great even with todays standard.
