OK - stop, please. You are going to die. This is not a sticky CD drawer mechanism we're talking about here, this is a high voltage television filled with poisonous gas, and you're wondering where the red wire goes. Get a TV repair man in, please!
I suggest vanman posts a pic of the now deceased Kuro so those of us who worship all things Pioneer can mourn and find closure.

I'd love to see the bastardized innards in the pic please

Yes I understand that but I have got this far and it is nearly fixed just need to stop this loud humming and I have notticed a crackle sound like when you pop bubble wrap but the tv has been on now for 1hr and still working.
You should be very concerned about that, yet you make it sound like its a minor problem.

Well thats that the tv has died, something at the back went with a very very loud bang and its completely dead, no I won't be fixing it again looks like either a service centre or its scrap but please people this was not a wind up and I really don't think you should tell people to take things apart to clean them, before I did this the tv was perfect and only 1yr old anyway I will let you know if its repaired or I need a new one

Bit of advice needed. I have a 1 year old car that's running perfectly fine and heard it might run better if I strip the engine down and steam clean all the components. I haven't a clue about engines, but me and my mate reckon there isn't much to it and besides, I can always take the parts of a different ten year old car that I have.

What do you guys think?

A word of advice !

I tried this with my Prius and, whilst it still runs, we - my mates a blacksmith- had real probs getting the diesel fuel in afterwards. Seems the Traction engine we borrowed a few parts from (well the engine really) wasn't the right year to be compatible and it ran over my foot as we tried to crank start it !!

Lucky to still be walking really. It does get me about though, as the AA have been very supportive.

Can you please stop hijacking my post if you want to be childish then fine, I thought this site was for adults to help and advise other adults who share the same interest in tv's etc

To answer another post about how can I afford a pioneer plasma but have no insurance, the tv is on pay as you view.

For those of you still interested I have had a tv engineer out who tells me that I put in a higher rated capacitor that was rated at 10,000 farads (what ever that means) he says the power bult up until it was released and has blown the main board he also says I may have damaged other parts but he does not know yet so its not looking good

Vanman you cannot say that all the posters here havent tried to help. You've ignored sound advice and proceeded to methodically destroy what was, apparently a perfectly good Pioneer plasma. You only have yourself to blame.

While I'm here, I have a 6 month old electric tree shredder which needs a clean. I'm going to get it going at full speed and then use a damp cloth to clean the shreeding teeth whilst wearing long dangly clothing. I might also submerge the whole device to aid cleaning. My question is, should I wear wellies or flip flops?

Any advice gratefully recieved.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IGNORED SOUND ADVICE, IT WAS ON THIS SITE THAT I WAS TOLD TO TAKE THINGS APART TO CLEAN THEM, GET BETTER SOUND AND PICTURES BY TAKING THE COVER OFF AMPS/TV'S/DVD PLAYERS ETC ETC AND BLASTING INSIDE WITH A CAN OF AIR AND I AM THE ONE BEEN CALLED AN IDIOT FOR FOLLOWING THAT ADVICE

Wait a minute. Does that mean you have blown up a TV that you don't actually own?

Whilst I sympathise with your plight, after your original post, there has been no advice given here that you should continue - in fact, to the contrary - "please stop, you're going to die" was pretty clear, I thought.

A pay as you view TV?? Whats that? You only pay for every minute you watch?

Vanman must be on a windup, I cannot believe this is all genuine.

You mean it's rented TV? Or it's on HP? Either way it looks like you're going to have to bite the bullet.

And by that I don't literally mean bite a bullet, or you'll no doubt be back here with an exploded gob wanting to know what we're going to do about it...

A telly that is coin operated, this is not a joke by-the-way, there is a coin operated meter on the telly that you put pound coins into to watch it.

As I said on a earlier post this is a wind up.

Fair play to you Vanman for keeping the pretence up for a few days, it has been comedy gold. TV repairs by David Brent.

I think Vanman may be closely related to Sempron - type 'Alba' in the above search box and you may see my point. This was never for real but at least it has kept my mind off the problem I have with my BBQ. It lit OK last year.......I may take the back off and give it a clean.
