But if the demand drops and your product becomes more specialist the price may go up. This has happened with hand made English shoes. In the late 90s a decent pair of shoes cost £85 to £125. Adjusted for inflation this would be about £160 to £235. However as the demand has dropped and they have become specialist they actually cost £300 to £600.
My Gucci's were £800 and only get worn for functions. However, with World War III just around the corner, there seems little point in saving money!
 
The Heybrook stands were very good - four columns so very rigid, wide footprint so very stable. Shame they couldn't have made them open frame like the Epos stands of the time, but then that's changing the point of the product I guess.
The current stands are open frame I believe, which ones are you talking about?
The current ones do not look like £499 stands.....
Their inclusion in a package makes the speakers themselves look way overpriced.
