What i was meant to write was:

new to all this, looking to get new tv 46"to 50" £800 to spend

to compliment skyhd and ps3 like watching films and sport. Currently own panasonic th 37px80b.

i would highly recommend getting the panasonic txp50g30b 50", its last years model, it is a stunning set, can be picked up for about £700, google it and you will get best price plus read up on review, or you could go for the award winning panasonic txp42g30b. but this is the 42" version.
