I am about to splash out on a new system and have zeroed in on a Samsung UE46D7000 tv, a Yamaha YSP 4100 soundbar and a Humax Fox T2 HDR. I also already own a Pioneer DV-575A dvd player and a Sony SLV-SE220G vcr. I would only use the vcr to play back existing videos, not to record new ones. Will these various items work OK together and, assuming they will, how should I connect them together?

What I want to find out is whether I connect everything into the tv and then connect that to the soundbar, or connect everything into the soundbar and then connect that to the tv, or join things up in some other way.

Assuming the soundbar will switch video, like an AV receiver will, connect everything to the soundbar and then one connection from there to the TV.
