Well I've just bought an MG ZT 260 (4.6l V8 Mustang engine) today so have decided not to go stupid on a new system for my living/listening room.

For my taste in music NAD and Arcam always do VERY well for me so I've been thinking... (dangerous according to my Dad)!

I'm toying with the idea of the NAD C326BEE amp, NAD C545BEE CDP and the Klipsch RB-81 speakers on Partington Dreadnought stands with Chord speaker cable/interconnects.

Has anyone heard these speakers yet (apart from the WHF team) as I cant find anywhere that will or have them in stock)!

Don't know about the hifi, but tell us more about the car please! It is the one that nearly cracked Clarkson's skull open when he thumped the grab handle during testing? Is it your fun car or will you use it all the time? Any pictures?

Yup - I heard them (briefly) when I visited the towers a few weeks ago. They are everything you'd expect from an American brand: big, brash sounding. They're not exactly shy when it comes to looks, either. Not my style, but if your thing is shouty, ostentatious monitors then fire away (sorry, don't know of any outlets).

Haven't heard the RB-81's, but have heard the 61's and they're very impressive, especially considering their size and even more considering their prize. Give them a go.

Why pay for an imported American speaker when you have so many great British options to choose from? Klipsh speakers have their advantages, but they are not known for being accurate. I love your NAD selections, but I'd rethink the speakers. If you want something with a big sound, go for Monitor Audio RS6s. They sound fab with that NAD kit.

Already had the M/A RS6's and B&W 685's - Both were superb but fancy going for something different now and the Klipsch's are right up my street so to speak.

BUT

I hate/wont buy blind so it may not go ahead!
