Hello again David,

I'm still hoping to hear how you would compare the JLAudio F212 and the Velodyne DD18+? I have no chance of seeing any of these monsters, so I can go only by reviews and by what experienced dealers say.

I'll be honest, I've not heard any Velodyne subwoofers. For what you get for your money nowadays, they'd have to be pretty special to warrant their price tag.

There is a lot of suttle as well as not suttle bass in skyfall

I have sn SVS SB13 Ultra on its way to me for home demo, i am pretty sure within a few days i will be able to get to grips with it and get a good idea of what it can do in my room.

I feel i have squeezed as much performance out of the XLS400 as poss in my current room - its a very good sub and some of the bass i have had from it would surprise the majority of people.

I am craving cleaner and slightly deeper performance the SVS on paper does the business looking forward to finding out Minus all the hard work of setting up, measuring the response etc.

To quote Elizabeth Bennett in "Pride and Prejudice", "Teasng, teasing man!" Are you going to tell us how much the Paradigm was, and which model number?

Indeed :) It was the Paradigm statement sub 2 - A steal at £9,949 :O

It has a unique design, or certainly one that I have not seen before. Hexagonal in shape with 4 drivers.

I wonder how that would perform against the JL F212 or better yet the soon to be release Gotham G213.

Ahhhh dreams, if only they came true :(

The DXD is a good sub too and always scores highly. It is very precise in what it does and for most its a little undesirable, only because it does not behave like a sub you are familiar with. Very clinical and clean like most of Ken's speakers, if thats your thing than the DXD is for you :)

Personally having heard both, I prefered the JL and I was toiling between the E112 and the F112, now thanks to Rick I am thinking of the F113!!

Sound and vision did a pretty good review on Subs, worth a read!

Hi duaplex

I apologise for diverting your attention towards the Fathom f113  Seriously though the Fathom f113 simply stamps its authority over the already impressive the Fathom f112

All the best

Nice!

I need to have a listen to this thing! I would imagine it works best in pairs. One on each side wall maybe :)

Good review of the Sub 1 Here - this guy appears to really know what he is doing - taking measurements of distortion etc.

Thats impressive stuff - However in the setup description - he runs PBK First and then runs Auddessey to auto setup.

Now correct me if I am wrong in doing so he is going to be double eq'ing the bass? As Auddessey will eq as well no doubt.

Does that sound like the right thing to do - it doesnt to me??

If you run PBK first, that pretty much sorts out any issues with regards to the sub. Running Audyssey afterwards will EQ the frequencies above those the sub is running at, and it will have far less to do with regards to the sub range because it will already be pretty flat from the PBK. You are double EQ'ing, but you'll find Audyssey won't have much to do in the region that the PBK EQ'd :)

Boss, for the living room I don't think you will go far wrong with a Draper screen. Its motorised and hidden, I bevlieve it works well in a well lit room, I have always seen them in living room environments, but admittedly I have not tested it. I only hear good things about them and they seem to be well received in reviews.

Perhaps a demo is on the horizon. If it works well I am going to kick myself even more for not getting a projector screen!

I would have to agree. Heard the Velodyne's recently and the pack a punch as well though.
