The Arcam CD37 won the HiFi Choice gold award for best CD player over the Cyrus so it seems to back up your own listening opinion.

I have the CD36 and am even tempted to try the CD37 myself - although the 36 is fantastic anyway.

Leaving aside electronics, it seems reasonable that anything with moving parts, e.g. CDPs, might benefit from being run in. But let's non hijack the thread.

Anything from Rega is superb - articulation beyond belief and they retain warmth in recordings, but not to Arcam extents. Then again, the Cyrus spinners are just as exempliary.
