yamaha v777 vs sony 1050 which is better

i am stuck between these two avr,s dont want to spend over 700euro any recommondations would be great on what to buy and is it straight forward connecting laptop to avr and i want to really enjoy music and films but dont know if an av receiver or an amplifier is better choice is it also possiable to connect laptop to amplifier any help would be greatly appriecated thank you in advance

im going for b&w 685s2 and not really sure after that just want a good 5.1 setup but personaly i dont have a clue about sound just love movies/audio and want to get something special for my 21st but i might try save up till the new dts thing comes out and spend around 1500 euro on a avr or amp thanks for replying much appreciated also your setup looks like heaven to me
