I ve settled betwen two amps.just need to do an A /B comparaison. Was wondering if I d get a better sound, result if going fopr the naim XS + arcam rdac or ther cyrus 8xpd QX.Is the Qx DAc as good as the arcam rdac.I ve got to try and found a dealer that stocks all three brands in order to do a demo so before I venture out I d like to have an idea...thanks in advance...

haven't heard any cyrus gear, but arcam gear usually sounds nice. a few people i know are always raving about the rdac's a-synchronos clock to. is supposed to be great at reducing digital jitter from the source.

Any particular reason why those two brands in particular, or might you go with something else from another DAC provider?

m open to other suggestion and any other brand, but feel the naim and cyrus (XS and 8xp) are good value for money..

Valid point made by record spot. The Cambridge Audio DAC Magic is a good match for most systems and the Musical Fidelity M1DAC sounds fantastic also. To the best of my knowledge the DAC in my cd player is the M1 and for it's price range (and much further up the chain) I certainly can't fault it.
