Name and shame

Not everyone will know the brand is now https://www.pursuitperfectsystem.com/
and as you say, he was a regular here, until he made his dream come true and began videoing shows, and publishing reviews. I admire that.

I think all these reviewers have pros and cons, and I personally tire of almost anyone's voice in a video unless they're saying something useful and not trotting out cliches, which is all too common.

Tarun of https://youtube.com/@abritishaudiophile7314?si=oGKuFRe8qexF8iSF is definitely one I respect, and I like his calm, collected manner - and transparency about sponsors.

I enjoy Erin of https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/
who tests loudspeakers in his own time, on very costly kit, and makes a lot of sense.

However, on topic, I will happily nominate https://synergisticresearch.com/power/fuses/ for their bullsh1t about fuses. I tried to have a sensible discussion on Facebook with them a few years ago. The 'shill', who later said he was the CEO or similar, dismissed my questions because I clearly knew nothing about quantum science or nano technology. I tried to explain I did know quite a bit about audio and music, which he didn't grasp. Room 101 for him and his phony products!
You nailed it with Synergistic Research, everything they do is an affrontery to our common sense. Really ridiculous outlandish claims, they give rise to antagonism within the HiFi community.

Below brings tears to my eyes!

I found a UK seller for those, £32,995 for a 10 foot pair. Oh, and cop a load of this from the retailer's site, "SRX speaker cables are an exploded geometry with ten individual pure silver cables running in parallel separated by carbon fiber discs to eliminate cross-talk between conductors. Each run has 2 x 4th Generation Tricon geometries with Silver Matrix Conductors in a Teflon dialectic, 4 x hand-made Air Strings with 14 AWG 99.9999% pure American Silver in an Air Dialectric, and 4 x hand-made Air Strings with 99.9999% Pure Silver Monofilament in an Air Dialectric."

How much of the price, is being charged for this "Air Dialectric"? Is it special air, 99.9999% pure, i.e. no farts in it?

Would be nice if it remained factual, but will likely descend into personal unfounded accusations against brands individuals don't like.
We’re still on course of politeness and individual’s opinions only 😎. As you say, this is NOT about brands other than what reviewers brand themselves (and the previous two or three posts). Factual doesn’t really come in to it. We’re not privy to reviewers obligations/contracts or lack thereof. We see and hear what we do.

If the thread continuous with opinions about brands I will ask to have it closed myself 🥰

I find it slightly amusing. I look at that marvellous cable, my vision is drawn along to the end, where I see a not so marvellous looking connector thingy. And then, I wonder what happens to all that cablelicious marvellousness at the point of connection. I'm hoping, with it's special magic, it can force it's marvellousness through the connection and onwards to its destination. Wow.

Another name that springs to mind is Nemo Propaganda (or something like that). He reviewed a speaker and compared it sonically with something else he had in his possession in the past in minute detail to the extent where he mentioned reverb trails and other, very small differences. I couldn't help myself and wrote a comment where I asked him whether he still had this other product and thus compared them side by side or, if not, how he remembered it in so much detail, audio memory being so short.

I got an avalanche of verbal abuse back telling my to start my own channel and to keep my mouth shut 😀. Fair enough, I knew at that point that although his review was valid as his opinion, any comparison to other products were pretty pointless. I did not reply.

In his 'defence', there followed another reply where he elaborated that as a reviewer, his audio memory is trained and different to our (untrained) ears and that he had previous vlogs to go back to. Now I give him some credit for the latter. If he made controlled, level matched recordings and has high quality equipment to compare, it may be possible. As for the trained ears ... . Even someone like Erin admits that auditory memory is short and shallow at best. Again, I left it there, thinking that if I were a YT creator I probably wouldn't like to be challenged at every opportunity 🙂

Ok, not strictly about a shill (I wouldn't know, I don't usually watch his vlogs) but still a point of contention about plausibility of content.
