Hi everyone,

Hi everyone,

I’m considering to buy one of the following systems:
  • Naim Mu-so
  • Marantz MCR 610 + Q Acoustics concept 20 + Stands
Here in Portugal, buying online ( demos not possible), the Marantz option is about 200 € more expensive and it’s in the limit of my budget.

Considering only the sound quality which do you consider the best option?

Suggestions for alternative systems within the budget are welcome.

Regards to you all!!

I assume that as you're considering the Naim Muso that a disc spinner of some kind is not especially important to you. You could consider the Marantz MCR610's junior sibling, the Marantz MCR510 which is essentially the same product without the CD player but is significantly cheaper, so might suit your practical and budget needs reasonably well.

I've not heard the pairing myself, but I know others on this forum have this combo and like it.

If you can stretch to it, and can live without a cd player, then undoubtedly the Muso is the one to go for. Take note that although billed as a 'wireless' system, reviews suggest it needs to be wired to ethernet for best results.

The Marantz is still a good choice, but the Naim has much more power.
