I've been going through the forums looking at what people own and find my self asking... Am I the only Naim user?

It all seems to be Cyrus and Arcam! I feel so alone!

You've got to be kidding! Loads of people on here use Naim. I've used the Naim forum a few times and I find it really helpful though I always get the impression the views are ever so slightly biased for some reason?ÿ

Very happy with my Naim stuff! Tried Cyrus 8 cd and amp and really did not like the (over) bright presentation and general lack of oomph (and they were paired with everyone's favourite RS6' and my Dali's).
It does seem like an Arcam/Cyrus love-fest on here sometimes, but hey, they're selling what people want and there's nothing wrong with that!
Oh, and the build quality is superb which combined with the sound makes for real value for money IMO.

Andrew Everard:Currently testing the Nait XS for Gramophone here...

Naim user here! CD5x/Flatcap2x, Nait5i-2, Ariva Speakers.

Andrew, Id be very interested on how you thought the Nait XS sounded against the 5i and Supernait?

:)

Well im only in a small room, which is why i've gone for the B&W 685 Speakers. but the sound is incredible and I love it :)

I even find (to my suprise) that classical music sounds fantastic aswell.

What ever I throw at it, its happy and it makes me happy. I run a 2 Channel audio feed into the amp from the Sony S350 Blu-Ray player, and that also sounds fantastic, even without a Sub or Centre or Surround Speakers

I need some headphones now :)

I've finally acquired a Naim 72/140 combination, playing via Naim A4 cable through Royd Doublets, and I'm very happy. Most of my listening's through Grado SR80s. I only wish I could spend more, but then there'd probably be too much choice! Sources are Rega Planar 3/RB200 (1983)/Dynavector 10X4, and a Rotel RCD-955AX (1991). Can anyone advise me whether a Marantz 6002 would be a sugnificant improvement over the Rotel, please? I listen to a wide range - classical, Ben Webster, Satriani, Santana, Whitesnake, et al.

Aj, I have always sensed, that like Linn, Naim is a company that wishes to hold a position in the Hifi world, that is certainly hard won, but possibly not fully justified. I am of course thinking of the price of Naim gear!

To be fair, your opening post was possibly born from boredom on your part, as is this belated response on my part!

I am perfectly happy with Quad amplification playing into an ancient Meridian Cd player, and finally coming out of equally ancient Spendor S100's.
