Hi shamrock

Just as with the H160 I've also found the H360's level gradually increases from low to high output which gives enough scope to find the optimum listening level. This is also true of the H80 amp/DAC.

Btw, what speakers are you using please?

All the best

Rick @ Musicraft

I can confirm this myself now, volume control has remained unchanged, simply brilliant especially

at low / medium volume listening :)

infact I've just joined the club and I'm now an happy owner of the Hegel H360 that drives my speakers (KEF Reference 3) with

confidence but keeping the gentleness I like even at low volume listening. I've noticed the H360

controls the bass with more authority and also mid/high seem more crystal clear maybe be due to the

new AKM 4490EQ dac chip same as used in their new reference dac hd30

Overall I think H160 is and excellent amplifier with unbeatable value for money

that can drive 80% of the speakers with ease and authority

then if you feel (like I did) your speakers need a bit extra control and finesse then the H360 is a natural upgrade

but like it has been said already it's an incremental improvement, not a game changer

Simply brilliant!

Thanks Rick@Musicraft

Did you get your H360 from Musicraft ? And is your H160 surplus to requirements ?

Hi shamrock

You're welcome.

Glad that you're enjoying the performance of the H360

The H160 is a cracking amplifier however in a head-to-head so far no one has chosen a H160 over a H360. Simplest test track to show the differences is (another one by Emika) FM Attention. FM Attention easily shows the superiority of the H360

Btw, your room and system looks great

Hi Andrew

Talk about hitting the ground running. Hegel's first high end DAC and within a few months of its release the HD30 is already receiving product of the year awards

Imo deservedly so too. After a few moments of hearing the HD30 I just knew they had produced something special. The HD30 is just so damn quiet. Very dCS esque like

This my first post here, I hope I am posting it to the right place....

Currently I have a Pathos Logos drivings Sonus Faber Cremona M. I believe there is more I can get out of the Cremona's with a better amp.

I listened to H360 and liked it but I could not listen with my SF Cremona M. Cremona M is said to be difficult drive but I am not sure about the details.

Has anyone listed to H360 and Cremona M? Would they make a good match?

Welcome to the forum cansen*smile*

The Hegel H360 will have absolutely no problem driving you Cremona's and I would expect it to sound far more tight, dynamic and detailed, that would be a big improvement imo but you must try for youself to see if you agree .

Thank you Electro.

It is difficult to listen to Hegels with my speakers unless I buy them
sad_smile.gif
. Nevertheless, I am pushing on Hegel as I like the one box solution and also the fact that they are cheaper than Devialet (which I listened D200 with Cremona and liked a lot )

What about H160? I know there are diffences between H160 and H360, but will H160 do a good job with a difficult load such as Cremona M's? Will H160 have dificullty driving Cremona M's?

I am trying to figure out if I can make improvement on my existing system with H160 and will H360 be an overkill?

99% of time I listen at low sound levels in a 30sqm room.

I end up leaving the amp on for long hours so the power consumption is important for me.Does anyone know or measured the ideal, typical and max power consumption of H160 and H360? I could not find this info on Hegel web page nor in any review.Thank you

Has anyone read the Absolute Sound Magazine Feb2016 on the H360? I am interested in what they think.

I read it online. If you go on google and type absolute sound hegel h360 review it should come up. Its all positive and very similar to the other reviews i posted.

I have searched Google thoroughly including your above suggestion but cannot obtain review for Hegel H360 from Absolute Sound..? Perhaps because review in magazine Feb 2016 review not yet put online (I am getting January 2016 reviews online from Absolute Sound).

Hi boomer

+1 . Sounds familiar. We had a client visit us recently to give us an update on his H360 - "the H360's tonality, layering of detail, articulate bass and most of all its speed really are something else. I've heard many amplifiers over the years and the H360 is one of the few to standout. The H360 is very, very special"

All the best

Cheers, Andrew *drinks*

I do have a question if any of you have experience with, please. I'd like to connect my subwoofer (a 10 years old B&W ASW 300 if I remember correctly) to the amplifier to compensate the lower frequency (below 54Hz) of my bookstand speakers. How would you make the connection? I vaguely remember there is a variable output on the H360 that can be used for this purpose?

Also, the subwoofer in question is connected to my AV amp, so I am not sure if it can connect with two sources at the same time. Can you connect line in R to one source (AV amp) and L to another (H360)? Or perhaps a line level switcher will be more practical?
