I have two sets a panasonic 42'' px70 (sky hd) and a panasonic lcd 32'' ZD85 (freesat hd|)

No suprise that the 32'' is a better picture due to its size, I think, mainly - but it seems the blacks are deeper on the LCD as well? is this right?

(the plasma is due toi be replaced soon as it looks washed out and i want a 50'')

With the current crop of tvs there is VERY little difference between Pan Plasmas and Samsung/sony LCDs for black levels regardless of what the plasma fanboys tell you

The only plasmas that truly are black are the Kuros

thats true , but there is far better shadow detail on a panny plasma than any of the lcd tvs out there , led or conventional..
