Such is the pace of new releases strange I have bought what is now the old module 605. Really wish I had gone for 875. As the 605 is not renowned (apparently) for its music ability I think its pointless going for anything other than a bookshelf or style package. Which of these would you recommend getting the best out the system movie and music? The muso/logo, KEF 3005se. I would like later to take the system form 5.1 to 7.1. Any other suggestions welcome.

We pitted the Arcam Muso/Logo and KEF KHT3005SE packages against each other while judging our Awards last year, and felt the KEF system just had the all-round edge for the money.

However, the Arcam remains a five-star package, and - as you'd expect - is a touch more musical than the KEFs. Might just make your AV set-up a tad more tuneful, but don't expect miracles: home cinema kit at this price point is typically akin to much cheaper, budget hi-fi in terms of musical performance.

I have built my package based on the information from the forum maily yourself and x 2 Andy..Shipped cables from the UK chord etc Have the onk 605, Tosh EP35, Marantz CD 6002. I am now looking at a set speakers. Have a good offer on the KEF30005se at sterling 857/- alternative montior BR5 package for sterling 959/-.would it be better to go for either of these package or drop down a tad to the Murcury F1 custom.Alternative sell the 605 for a 875 (which speakers to pair) or some how latter add a stereo amp for music??????????????

That's a great deal on the KEFs, but if you are happy with traditional-looking speakers they will offer better performance-per-pound, plus be more musical.

For example, the Tannoy Mercury F1 Custom package at @£800 will outperform the KEFs, and the Monitor Audio Bronze BR5 package would be slightly better still.

Can I just refer you back to my post on the 875 or adding a stereo amp later option for better music. Would either of these speaker package do justice to the above. I can get a deal on the Mercury F1 at sterling 703/- and the BR5 sterling 959/- (using the BR2 rear) would I get a pound for pound sound upgrade given the price difference. Or would you recommend something else. The Arcam is a good deal and I will keep this in mind but now understand the difference over style.

I cannot judge the Kef as I do not know them. But I am very pleased with my Muso- Logo speakers and I believe it is really good value for the money.
Regards

I'd go for the 875 and the Monitor Audios - step up in music and movie sound.

Thanks going to place the order for the BR5 and upgrading to the 875 near future. Thats when the wife is out and I can make the change. Also liked the KEF IQ5.

Would I be better of with BRFX as rears or the BR2???????
