I'm guessing hi-res music videos on the net just doesn't exist. Probably no market for it. It's a shame because the mini-movie that these vids provide really adds a huge impact to songs.
And then I compared it to the CD I own. Wow! Anyone that doesn't believe that audio compression impacts sound quality should try this. While it's true that youtube is only offering 56kbs as opposed to the 128 on most MP3, it still demonstrates to even the most skeptical listener that compression does in fact matter. We can argue at what point the compression is audible, but few people would argue that youtube sounds like my CD.
