Music Fidelity M1 for 320kbps MP3?

Hi Friends

I will be using whatfe 10.1 with PM6004 amp and 320kbps MP3 or FLAC from laptop. I am wondering how much improvement will i see with M1 DAC into the picture. Is it small or is it very big? Is it really worth it to spend 400pounds for the difference?

If you think this is for yourself the way to go from now on (your laptop and Flac-files for playing your music), than it's worthwhile to invest in a decent DAC.

Some are even cheaper than the M1 and will do a fine job also.

Good connectivity and decent engineering: Cambridge DacMagic 100, Micromega MyDac. 😉

And what if I say I will use low end speakers like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-X-230-Multimedia-Speaker-System/dp/B00069ZEA6 without any amp, and direct;y conected to my PC's 3.5mm out?

Basically, for computer speakers, Will a DAC make any significant difference? If yes, which cheapest DAC will be sufficient, instead of going for costly ones like M1

I'd say the M1 would be a big improvement over the computers audio output, but it not worth doing if you are putting into bargin basement speakers.

Have a look at the V90 range from MF too. Cheaper and very good. I haven't heard the DAC but if it's as good as the HPA then it will be a winner.
