Thought I'd pas on this experience even if it helps just one person. I got mine back updated with the V1.7 software and it now plays all of the shop bought CD's, but refused to play a number of my CD-R's. Quick call to Cyrus and they suggested that its because some programmes like itunes don't always close the CD properly after burning, and suggested a free download that they use themselves called Exact Audio Copy (EAC). Came up with a google click and it works great at ripping CD's with advanced features for calibrating the drive in your PC. I havent figured out how to get it to burn yet, but WMA does that fine - all I had to do was rip the wav files off the "unplayable" discs, and reburn them with WMA. Now they all work perfectly. I have used it to rip new CD's and then burn with WMA and its given excellent results.
