Minimalist System Needed - and good brand of cieling speakers?

I live in a minimalist life style as in no ornaments, etc, have ceramic tile effect flooring through out and have decided that cieling speakers is the way to go.

Current system is very old, Yamaha seps need something that plays CD, MP3 as also looking to add a Sonos set up. Any ideas

budget is around £1000 for system and £500 for speakers.

Tricky, since most of the makers we know don't tend to do in-walls or ceiling speakers. But you should consider Linn, Kef, Monitor Audio for starters, all of whom do in-ceilings...........

Other than that, what do you want your stereo to look like (if at all)? I'd personally miss out traditional separates or all in ones like the Arcam Solo Mini all together and go the Sonos route, as you say, if aesthetics are your bag.
